cricket pro helps youth cricket in suffolk
A South African cricket professional – who has pitted his wits against the likes of Kevin Pietersen - has been helping youngsters perfect their game at the Victory Ground in Bury St Edmunds.
Andrew Tweedie from the Bury St Edmunds Cricket Club popped down to the Monday night session to put keen young cricketer’s through their paces.
Bury’s pro player was joined by the club President – Dave Barker - and key sponsor, Ray Cawston from Cecil and Larter, with the aim of encouraging young players to get involved and stay involved in junior cricket.
Tweedie, said, “I was delighted to coach the youngsters and pass on some of my knowledge. It is important with any sport that the youth are given an opportunity to play and learn the game and I am looking forward to helping out again in the future.”
Barker, said, “Everyone at the club is grateful to all of our sponsors, including Cecil and Larter. They have supported us for many years. And we are confident that their sponsorship will release funds to help us develop our younger players.”
Ray Cawston from Cecil and Larter, said, “We have had close ties with the cricket club for many years and we are always happy to try and help them out. We are confident that this partnership will continue for many years to come and hope that our efforts can play a small part in developing the next generation of budding Freddie Flintoff’s.”
